Macbat’s exhibit at this year’s CeMAT in Hannover was a smashing success. This was our third consecutive exhibit at CeMAT and 2008 was by far the most successful. Feedback from the people we met indicates three key factors that make us very optimistic about the future: (1) brand recognition, (2) brand confidence and (3) market conditions.
It was clear from the contacts we met that Macbat’s brand recognition and confidence has grown dramatically since the 2005 CeMAT exhibition. Most of the contacts that we met at our stand and throughout the show were already familiar with Macbat, many of them having heard about us by word-of-mouth. This familiarity and a positive brand image has shifted the focus of our contact with prospects. Previously the focus was on convincing the prospect that we were offering a viable technology. At this year’s CeMAT the focus was on the Macbat’s benefits and costs.
The third factor that makes us very optimistic was the impact of market conditions. Concerns about market conditions and the need for new solutions were voiced again and again by the people we met. The pressure exerted on the market by the high price of lead has created tremendous incentive for companies all along the handling chain to maximize the lifetimes of their batteries. This too has led to a shift of consumer opinion in Macbat’s favor.
In addition to our stand exhibit, Macbat sponsored a conference at the Hannover conference center. The purpose of the conference was to highlight the launch of our new product, the Macbat Midi.
Another objective was to collect Macbat’s international partners together to share their experiences with Macbat. Over 20 people from more than 10 countries were on hand to hear presentations about the new Macbat Midi, Midi field tests, Macbat’s sustainable energy contributions in India, and current market conditions.
The conference and the CeMAT exhibit created a great opportunity for Macbat’s many international partners to meet and interact with each other. The result has not only been to establish market contacts, but also a common sense of optimism that we are marching in the right direction and a belief that in the next year Macbat and our partners will enjoy terrific growth.
